KJIM update 2025

Since being first indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded in 2014, the Korean Journal of Internal Medicine (KJIM) has made remarkable strides in Internal Medicine publication, including both clinical and experimental research. The journal has gained widespread recognition and reinforced its position as a leading global publication.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the four Editors-in-Chief Emeriti, Byung-Ho Kim (Kyung Hee University), Chul Woo Yang (Catholic University), Young Koog Cheon (Konkuk University), and Bum Soon Choi (Catholic University), for their valuable contributions to KJIM, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of its SCIE index.

In 2024, the journal received over 1,000 article submissions, with a marked increase in submissions from abroad. Authors from 25 different countries have contributed to KJIM. The average time from submission to the first decision is 20 days, while the average time from submission to the final decision is 29 days.

We are privileged to be the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board members for KJIM. The editorial team has been and will remain dedicated to ensuring the success of this exceptional publication.

Our primary objectives for KJIM in the coming years are to: enhance its visibility within the clinical and research communities and elevate its standing as a leading journal in this field; seek and publish high-quality reviews and original articles that provide the latest clinical and research insights; uphold the quality, standards, and transparency of our editorial and review processes while accelerating the response time to submissions; and strengthen both regional and global networks to serve more effectively the needs of our society and the broader scientific community.

To achieve these objectives, the KJIM editorial team will actively seek the latest, most compelling research papers while establishing communication channels with the subsocieties of the Korean Association of Internal Medicine.
